Joanne Bradley

Head of Communications

With over 20 years experience in financial services and relevant industry qualifications, Joanne joined Standard Life Investments as Head of Communications in January 2001, establishing the external and internal communications office for the company. More recently, Joanne was Campaign Manager for the 'yes' vote, coordinating activities of members, press, internal comms, public affairs and investor relations, to successfully win the vote to demutualise Standard Life.

As Chief Press Officer with Lloyds TSB in Scotland for six years, Joanne set-up the press office, internal communications, government relations and the charitable foundation PR functions.

Prior to 1995 an international and corporate banking career spanning 15 years included; business development and correspondent banking responsibilities for Europe and the U.S., industry and company representative at the European Commission for three years specialising in the single currency and multi-currency cross border payments, creating and managing a treasury audit risk department post- Barings collapse and also head of the treasury back office.

In 1989, Joanne moved from Royal Bank of Scotland where she was involved in retail, corporate and international banking, working in various roles.

Brian Simmons

Press Manager

Brian joined Standard Life Investments as Press Manager in August 2002, having worked in press and public relations for over 15 years prior to joining the company.

Previous experience with the Scottish Office included media arrangements for Royal Visits to Scotland and all media aspects of Scottish Office activity in Parliament including close liaison with the Westminster Lobby Correspondents.

Immediately prior to joining SLI, Brian was involved in establishing press offices in Edinburgh and London for the newly created Scotland Office and acting as Press Officer for Secretary of State John Reid.

Richard England

Press Manager

In 1999 Richard graduated from Glasgow University with an Honours degree in History and Politics. He spent the subsequent year working in the City with Biddick Associates, a financial public relations agency - raising the media profile of several software, Internet and media companies at the height of the dotcom boom. Following this, Richard enjoyed a year at Oxford conducting post-graduate research in History before returning home to Scotland in 2001.

Richard has worked for Standard Life Investments since January 2002. He has specific responsibility for European Business Development, Property, Fixed Income, Investment Trusts, Strategic Solutions and co-ordinating activity across the company's global offices.

Hilda Stewart

Press Manager

Hilda graduated from St Andrews University in 1999 with an MA Honours in English and French. After a period of world travels, she returned to Scotland to work for PR agencies The Communication Group and Curious Oranj. Working across events, sponsorship and media relations, she helped raise the profile of a wide range of clients within the property, B2B and tourism sectors.

An associate member of the Institute for Public Relations in Scotland, Hilda joined Standard Life Investments in 2003. She has specific responsibility for Strategy, Mutual Funds, Corporate Governance and SRI.

Lauren Auld

Press Assistant

Lauren recently joined Standard Life Investments after having worked in various roles with Standard Life Group. This included Group Media Relation where she was involved in the demutualisation campaign and subsequent stock market flotation. During Lauren's time in the Group Media Relations team she dealt with media enquiries, organised events and provided administrative support.

Lauren’s main responsibilities at Standard Life Investments include supporting the Press Team, providing information to journalists and managing the company's editorial contribution to target publications.
