Paris Property Office Expands

Standard Life Investments, one of the largest property fund managers in Europe, has strengthened its Paris-based European property team with the appointment of Philipp Bach as portfolio manager. Philipp was formerly an investment consultant for international investors with CB Richard Ellis in Paris. He joined CBRE’s European graduate scheme in 2002, taking placements in their London, Madrid and Frankfurt offices, before joining CBRE Paris in 2005.

Aged 30, Philipp Bach has a business degree in Real Estate and Marketing from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany and an MSc in Real Estate from Georgia State University, Atlanta. He speaks German, French and English.

Reporting to James Rushworth, Director of European Property at Standard Life Investments, he becomes the fourth member of the team based in Avenue Hoche in central Paris.

Commenting on the appointment, James Rushworth said:

"I am delighted to welcome Philipp to the team. His experience of working in different European cities and in a mix of roles that have included corporate services, valuations and investment will prove particularly valuable to us at a time when we are actively expanding our continental real estate business into new markets."

Standard Life Investments, one of the largest property fund managers in Europe, opened its first European real estate office in July 2007. It chose Paris because it is one of the most significant business centres in continental Europe and is well-placed geographically to facilitate the anticipated increase of business across the continent. It currently manages more than €1.5bn of property in France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
