SLI adds to UK Institutional Business Development Team
Standard Life Investments, a leading investment house, today announced the expansion of its UK institutional business development team with the appointment of Len Currie* as Investment Director – UK Institutional Business. Len was previously a Senior Pension and Employee Benefits Consultant at KPMG.
Reporting to Louise Kay, Head of UK Institutional Business Development, Len will be responsible for working with institutional investors to develop business opportunities and further strengthen Standard Life Investments’ significant market presence.
Commenting on the appointment, Louise Kay said:
“Len has an enormous amount of experience in pension, actuarial and employee benefits consulting - particularly in identifying and implementing alternative investment strategies for pension schemes, including absolute return and liability driven investment strategies. Len’s appointment will give the team an invaluable perspective as we continue to grow our share of the UK institutional market.”
In 2007, SLI saw UK Institutional sales generate record net inflows of £3.9bn, an increase of 18% on 2006. This included a number of new mandates, among them UNISON (£140m), The Pensions Trust (£140m), Rentokil (£340m) and Taylor Wimpey (£120m).
