SLI appoints Colin Walklin as Finance Director

Standard Life Investments, the global fund manager, has today strengthened its board with the appointment of Colin Walklin to the newly-created position of Finance Director.* Colin was previously Chief Financial Officer at Barclaycard.

Reporting directly to Keith Skeoch, Chief Executive Officer, Colin will be responsible for all financial functions within Standard Life Investments. This appointment follows an extensive search and selection process.

Commenting on the appointment, Keith Skeoch said:

“Colin’s appointment marks a milestone in the evolution of Standard Life Investments. Since our launch in 1998, we have grown from £62bn to over £140bn in assets under management. In that time we have moved from being a UK-focused investment house to one that attracts revenue from Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. Such is the range of opportunities and challenges that our business now faces, I felt it was important that we had a director in place who was dedicated to all aspects of finance.

“Colin’s experience is extensive and wide-ranging – not just in finance but also strategy and planning, M&A, treasury, tax and legal issues. His arrival will add to the skill set of the board and I’m sure Colin will play an important role in the next stage of Standard Life Investments’ development.”
