US Equity Team Goes From Strength To Strength At SLI USA

Standard Life Investments (SLI), the global investment manager, today announced the appointment of Kenneth Murphy as Senior Vice President - US Equities, of its subsidiary Standard Life Investments (USA) Limited (SLI USA). Mr. Murphy was previously a US Equity Analyst at Putnam Investments in Boston.

Based in SLI USA’s office in Boston, Mr. Murphy will report to Steve Weeple, Head of US Equities. Mr. Murphy will be responsible for identifying investment ideas within the consumer sector and managing a portfolio benchmarked to the S&P 500 Index. He will join SLI USA on Monday, June 16th.

With Mr. Murphy’s appointment, SLI now has a team of 11 US equity analysts based in Boston. Last month SLI also announced the appointment of Glen Petraglia as Senior Vice President - US Equities. Together the team manages approximately $7bn in assets under management (as at 03.31.08).

SLI USA was launched in 2002 to increase Standard Life Investments’ coverage of the US equity market and to provide US investors with access to its private equity, global equity, real estate and absolute return strategies.
