William Perry promoted to CEO of SLI USA

Standard Life Investments (SLI), the global investment manager, has strengthened its commitment to the US market with the promotion of William Perry to Chief Executive Officer of its subsidiary Standard Life Investments (USA) Limited (SLI USA). Mr. Perry was previously Managing Director.

Mr. Perry will continue to be based in SLI USA's office in Boston, and will report directly to Keith Skeoch, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Life Investments. Mr. Perry will have responsibility for the strategic development of SLI USA, including the expansion of its investment and distribution capability. He assumes his new position with immediate effect.

SLI USA was launched in 2002 to increase Standard Life Investments' coverage of the US equity market and to provide US investors with access to its private equity, global equity, real estate and absolute return strategies.

Commenting on the appointment, Keith Skeoch, said:

Since becoming Managing Director in 2006, Bill has made an enormous contribution to the success of Standard Life Investments in the US. Working closely with Steve Weeple, Head of US Equities, Bill has helped us achieve performance figures in US equity investments of which we are proud. He has also been instrumental in putting the building blocks in place that will enable us to offer a number of our other key investment strategies in the US market."

In recent weeks, SLI USA announced the twin appointments of Glen Petraglia and Kenneth Murphy, both as Senior Vice Presidents of US Equities. SLI now has a team of 11 US equity analysts based in Boston who together manage approximately $7bn in assets under management (as at 03.31.08).
