The Pension Index-Linked Fund is invested in UK government issued index-linked treasury stock and may be invested in any similar stocks issued in the future. The returns from index-linked treasury stock are linked to the Retail Price Index; however the returns from the Fund are not. They are linked to the underlying price of the stock which can go up or down.
