Global Absolute Return Strategies

For a smoother investment journey, absolute return investing could be an ideal option. In 2006, Standard Life Investments launched its Global Absolute Return Strategies Fund (GARS) which aims to provide investors with the same returns that have historically been achieved from conventional long-term equity investment but with considerably less uncertainty. This equates to a performance target of cash* plus 5% per annum (gross of fees) over rolling 3-year periods.

Our highly-experienced Multi-Asset Investing Team utilises a robust investment process to generate and implement a wide range of investment strategies. A high degree of emphasis is also placed on effective risk management – a vital component in delivering not just solid returns but solid risk-adjusted returns. As a result, we have built a successful track record during an extremely volatile period for financial markets. This strong performance has led an increasing number of institutions to implement GARS as a default option for a DC scheme, a core holding or as an equity replacement.
