The investment objective of the Trust is to outperform the retail park sub-sector of the IPD universe over a rolling three-year period. We launched the Trust in April 2005.

Lorcan’s main responsibilities are the asset management, acquisition and disposal of out-of-town retail properties throughout the UK, particularly for the Standard Life Investments UK Retail Park Trust. Lorcan’s real estate career stretches back to 1988 and he joined the company in 1994.

Ed joined the industry in 1985 and has extensive experience in the shopping centre market. He joined Standard Life Investments in 2003 having spent his earlier career in the retail department of Knight Frank in London.

The Property Fund invests in a diversified portfolio of properties throughout the UK, with assets held in a mix of freehold and leasehold retail, office and industrial properties. We may also invest a small part of the portfolio in properties elsewhere in Europe and in real estate developments. The value placed on the holdings in the Property Fund is based on external valuations of each property on a monthly basis.

David joined the real estate industry in 1987. He joined Standard Life in 1989 and his responsibilities have included the asset management of major shopping centres, business parks and retail developments, as well as the management of several of our key real estate funds.

The Long Lease Property Fund invests in a diversified portfolio of assets, let to strong financial covenants and maintaining a minimum unexpired lease length of 15 years.

Richard joined Standard Life Investments as a graduate in 1997 and has built up extensive experience in the acquisition, disposal and asset management of real estate assets. Richard has managed the Long Lease Property Fund since its launch in 2003. He is also responsible for managing a segregated property portfolio.

The Fund develops and invests in a diversified portfolio of real estate development projects in the UK, with a focus on prime stock.

James is manager of the UK Property Development Fund. Having entered the industry in 2001, James joined Standard Life Investments in 2006. He is widely experienced in the real estate industry and has covered all sectors in the investment and development fields.

Structured as a euro-denominated English Limited Partnership

The Fund aims to deliver long-term returns by investing in a diversified portfolio of high-quality European commercial property through a strategic weighting to core markets and a tactical research driven exposure to growth markets with an active management style to enhance returns. Its return objective is 8%-10% net per year on a five-year rolling basis.

Veronica joined Standard Life Investments in 2012 as Deputy Fund Manager and became the Fund Manager in May 2014. Based in our Paris office, Veronica is responsible for the fund strategy including acquisitions, asset management, development, finance and asset disposals. She has over sixteen years of industry experience, a degree in Economics by Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (Spain) and a MA in Economics by the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). She is fluent in Spanish, French and English.

The Global REIT Fund invests in a globally diversified portfolio consisting primarily of REITs and quoted real estate companies. We aim to exploit the lack of correlation in real estate cycles globally to enhance investor returns over the medium term while maintaining an appropriately diversified portfolio and controlling volatility.

In 2005, Svitlana joined Standard Life Investments’ global listed real estate team, which invests in real estate securities around the world including Australia, the United States, Europe and Asia. Svitlana is responsible for managing investments, identifying new opportunities and implementing the Fund’s strategy. She is also responsible for fundamental research of listed real estate companies, as well as analysing underlying markets. Svitlana joined the industry in 1997.

The objective of the Fund is to provide income, with some capital appreciation over the longer term. The investment policy of the Fund is to invest globally, primarily in direct commercial real estate and real estate-related equities.

James Britton

James Britton joined the Standard Life Investments’ Real Estate team as Portfolio Manager in 2006. From 2006 to 2009 his main focus was Continental Europe. In Q4 2009 he switched to working on Standard Life Investments’ UK Property Fund and Global Real Estate Property Fund. In Q4 2010 he was appointed Deputy Fund Manager of Standard Life Investments UK Property Fund, then in 2015 became Fund Manager of the Standard Life Unit Linked Life Fund and segregated South Yorkshire Pension Authority mandate. James began his career in 2001 as a Trainee Surveyor with LaSalle Investment Management before moving to Jones Lang LaSalle’s Valuation Advisory department in 2002. Between 2003 and 2006 he was a Surveyor in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Corporate Solutions team.
